Register of bounty land warrants nos. 5479-9914, March 30, 1808-March 11, 1870.

These records list warrants issued between 1808 and 1870 for Revolutionary War military service. In columns are recorded the name of the person to whom the warrant was issued, the fee charged for the warrant, the rank of the person on whose service the warrant was issued, whether his service was in a state or continental unit, the number of acres allotted, the length of service, the date, and the number of that warrant. During the period 1832-1839 (warrants 7124-8688), various columns are not filled in. This register partly compensates for the lack of warrant books for numbers 5020-8779. Clippings reciting congressional acts passed in 1814 and 1826 extending the time to locate Virginia military land warrants are attached to the front cover.
